Earnest Linwood Bailey

"One of the oldest and best known citizens of Thomson, Mr. E.L. Bailey, passed away at his home Saturday afternoon, January 22nd, in the 63rd year of his age. He had been sick for about two weeks. During his illness, he was given every attention but to no avail. He had spent the greater portion of his life in Thomson and had served in an official capacity for the city for a number of years. He was liked by all who knew him and had friends by the score. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mr. J.L. Bailey, Mrs. Beulah Sweatman, Miss Idelia Bailey of Thomson and Mrs. Annie Tyler of Moultrie besides several grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon with Rev. Olin King officiating. Interment was in Thomson Cemetery."
