Husband of Annie Wade Boyd. Son of John Henry and Josephine (Sturgis) Boyd.
Grandson of Hezekiah and Connie (Scott) Boyd and Alfred and Mary (Darsey) Sturgis, all from Columbia Co., Ga.
 
First president of the Farmers and Merchant's Bank of Thomson, which became First National Bank of Thomson. Held that position until he died.
 
Representative from McDuffie Co. in the Legislature 1892-1897.
